Replacement Handhole Parts for York-Shipley Boilers

Boiler Handhole assemblies consist of five components:

1. Cover Plate

The handhole cover plate is made from high strength steel and is formed to seal against the inside diameter of your boiler's pressure vessel. The portion that protrudes through the pressure vessel is threaded to allow for installation of a washer and nut.

• 42" Boilers (25 to 50 HP) use Cover # 046137
• 48" to 64" Boilers (60 to 200 HP) use Cover # 046140
• ​76" to 112" Boilers (250 HP and larger) use Cover # 046141
• If your boiler has a handhole in its front tubesheet, this is Cover # 127212

2. Gasket

The handhole gasket is made from pressure and temperature appropriate materials. It is installed between the handhole plate and the inside diameter of your boiler's pressure vessel.

• Steam boilers rated at 180psi and lower design pressures use Gasket # 042305
  • 042305 is made from high temperature molded rubber
• Steam boilers rated above 180psi use Gasket # 338345
  • 338345 is made from spiral wound stainless steel and graphite foil
• If your boiler has a handhole in its front tubesheet, the gasket for this handhole is Gasket # 104346

3. Yoke

The handhole yoke is made from CNC burned and formed carbon steel. It rests against the outside diameter of your boiler's pressure vessel and allows you to torque the handhole into place, forming a pressure tight seal.

• All York-Shipley boilers manufactured before 2018 use Yoke # 327351

York-Shipley boilers manufactured 2018 and later use a cast handhole yoke

• If your boiler is year 2018 or newer, use Yoke # PHHFY2

4 & 5. Handhole Washer & Nut

During installation, the washer slides over top of the handhole cover plate's threaded stem. The nut is then torqued to draw the handhole cover plate towards the nut, thereby compressing the gasket and forming a liquid and steam tight seal.

• ​All York-Shipley boilers use Washer # 105153 and Nut # 303716
